About look

look is an open-source native renderer for people, scripts, and software agents that need to inspect 3D models without launching a full CAD application. It loads GLB/glTF 2.0, binary or ASCII STL, and STEP files; STEP boundary representations are tessellated inside the executable.

The Rust and wgpu-based CLI renders named perspective or orthographic views with configurable lighting and technical or source-material modes. It can combine multiple views into a single GPU-rendered PNG atlas, return scene statistics as JSON, run repeatable YAML jobs, keep scenes GPU-resident for repeated inspection, and generate a self-contained offline HTML viewer.

look is installed locally and is available free under a choice of MIT or Apache-2.0. Release artifacts cover Linux, Windows, and macOS on x86-64 and ARM64.
