3D Printing Cost Estimator
Calculate the estimated cost of an FDM or FFF print from filament use, electricity, printer wear, and failed-print allowance.

How to Use It
Enter your spool price, spool weight, and slicer-reported filament usage to estimate material cost. Add slicer print time, average printer power, and your utility rate for electricity.
Machine wear is optional but useful for paid jobs. The estimator spreads printer cost over expected print-hour lifespan, then adds the share used by this print.
Reducing Print Cost
- Lower infill where strength is not critical.
- Orient the model to reduce supports and failed overhangs.
- Buy common materials in bulk when storage conditions are controlled.
- Keep first-layer calibration stable to reduce failed-print markup.
