OpenVSP

OpenVSP, short for Open Vehicle Sketch Pad, is an open-source parametric aircraft geometry tool used for conceptual aircraft and vehicle design. It helps users create 3D aircraft models, adjust engineering parameters, evaluate geometry, and prepare models for downstream analysis.

NASA describes Vehicle Sketch Pad as an aircraft geometry tool for rapid evaluation of advanced design concepts, with tools to model and export internal structural layouts. The current OpenVSP download page provides ready-to-go builds for Windows, macOS, and Ubuntu, and the project also publishes source code on GitHub. OpenVSP is distributed under the NASA Open Source Agreement, so the pricing entry is recorded as free/open source rather than commercial subscription or quote-based licensing.
