About vcad

vcad is an open-source parametric CAD system for makers, developers, and technically minded design teams. It combines a browser CAD app with a Rust/WASM BRep kernel, desktop builds, command-line tooling, and libraries for scripted geometry workflows.

The project supports common solid-modeling operations including primitives, sketches, booleans, fillets, chamfers, shelling, sweep, loft, assemblies, joints, and direct BRep rendering. It can import STEP and export STL, GLB, STEP, DXF, and related formats for downstream fabrication, visualization, or interchange.

vcad also exposes MCP tools so AI agents can create, inspect, and export CAD documents. The hosted app runs in the browser, while the source, CLI, desktop builds, and Rust packages support local or self-managed use.
